High School Softball: Humboldt Lady Cubs
Several members of the Humboldt High Lady Cub softball team were named all-Tri-Valley League and 3A all-state after a stellar 20-3 season.
Junior centerfielder Morgan Mauk earned first-team honors while senior pitcher Rylan Wilhite and sophomore Winter Snyder were named to the second team.
Mauk was unstoppable at the plate and on the base-paths, hitting a .671 average while racking up 60 stolen bases throughout the year.
Snyder hit .641 while recording 43 RBIs and five home runs and Wilhite hit .562 with 42 RBIs while going 20-3 from the mound. Wilhite pitched in every game, recording nine shutouts, five no-hitters and 126 shutouts.
Mauk was also named to the Topeka Capital-Journal All-Star Prep Team and will be honored at a banquet Tuesday.
In addition to those all-state honors, all three athletes were named to the all-Tri-Valley League team along with shortstop Aricah McCall (.522 batting average, 37 RBIs). First baseman Sydney Houk earned honorable mention all-league honors after hitting .429 and recording 23 RBIs.
